Some questions to inspire the article:

Utilitarianism is close, but:

- What makes one subject experiencing torment worse than ten thousand? - In both cases, every window into reality experiences the same torment once.

   - It is apparently worse to nobody.

Are they equivalent? If not, why?

Perhaps:

- One subject in pain + two in pleasure = 1/3 chance of inhabiting a slice of reality that is unpleasant.

In this case duplicating the subject in pain would worsen your chances.

But how? Every subject is inhabited once tenselessly in its own instantiation as part of reality and that's all that can be said.

Stance on metaethics

"Should" is not derived from structural facts. It IS a structural fact — the practical face of self-modeling. A system that models itself has built-in standards; "should" names the relation between those standards and the system's activity. There is no gap to bridge because the normative and the structural were never on opposite sides.
